What is the cannabinoid H4CBD?
Hexahydrocannabidiol, or H4CBD, is a synthetic cannabinoid created by adding four hydrogen atoms to the CBD molecule. The process of producing H4CBD is very similar to the process of making margarine from vegetable oil. Essentially, H4-CBD is a hydrogenated version of CBD.
To produce H4CBD, chemists start with CBD molecules obtained from cannabis and combine them with hydrogen atoms. (Hence the term "hydrogenation.") This chemical reaction creates a new compound, which was recently named "H4-CBD." The "H4" in the name indicates the four hydrogen atoms, and CBD is our old friend cannabidiol.
